I grew up on a farm full of animals . Shiv Kapoor My father used to run an NGO. It was like a mini zoo. My only friends were the ducks , dogs, monkeys , horses, rabbits … had more than 70 dogs and numerous cats on our farm. I had a fetish for puppies so I’d even pick a chute to take home . But my mother was angry as they eat lots and lots of crap. Soon , I began to scratch . On a lighter note , this is probably why I’m so lively. I have a funny bone , courtesy of the animals. My sister thinks I’m crazy. I like dogs attacks . I could be like Jim Carrey someday.

I had a sheltered childhood . My parents did not allow me to sleep at a friend’s house . Even if a classmate called me on landline phone, my father picked up the other phone to check that I was talking about. I needed to break free. I did my degree in Tourism Studies . That was when I stayed in a hostel independently for the first time . I have an internship over three years with the Oberoi hotels in Jaipur. But still , I’d rather attend a party at home instead of going to a pub or nightclub . I do not have a fascination with the clubs up . I am the old world in the heart . Although in modern thought I give importance to values.

My father wanted me to get into modeling. Coming from a military background , my mother understands that exposure is important. But my father believed that girls should be married . My sister got married when I was 18 . But I wanted to be independent . I was plump . I weighed about 75 kilos and wore braces when I went to the modeling agency in New Delhi. Strangely, I was selected . I worked and I lost weight. Soon I bagged the plum assignment . Trust me modeling helps you pay your bills .
“I gave strange field tests for SDR “
I had come to Mumbai one day shoot for a print campaign . My modeling agency asked me to meet the casting director of Yash Raj Films, Shanoo Sharma . Shanoo dance took my test . I was about to board the plane back to Delhi when she called and asked me to stay back and a hearing. We had visits restaurants and lounges where she asked me to enact something improvised. Those were the field tests . Seemed strange at first. But I told myself that if I could not do it in front of a crowd at random, I would not be able to do on the screen. I grew confident. It helped me get rid of my inhibitions. Those tapes were the director Maneesh Sharma and Aditya Chopra. They liked and I was on board.
” The proposition people when you’re desperate for work “
At first, I was not willing to join the film industry as I feared casting couch . I had a secure life in Delhi. The modeling world is scarier for men. I am lucky that I did not meet the casting couch since I was a reputable modeling agency . YRF And also you are in good hands. I think the people proposition when you’re desperate for work and do not know the right set of people. People tend to take advantage of you when you’re lost .
” My mother embarrassed me “
When my father saw the first trailer for SDR , which also had the kissing scene , he was surprised . My mother was uncomfortable , but she dealt with it maturely . Adi said, ” Your mom is cool! ” Actually , my mother is a drama queen . My mother was expressing his opinion along the projection. I was so embarrassed ! I have two more movies to go with YRF and each other directors did not offer me work then I ‘ll hold on to Adi ( Aditya Chopra ) . Honestly, I’m anxious because I have not signed any film. But I ‘m not having a nervous breakdown because I YRF give me something good . Adi has faith in me. I want to feel miserable overworked . I crib about not having time. I do not want to sit and relax.
“I give the guy bad vibe “
I feel strange giving autographs . I know it sounds silly, but despite being a model , I’m scared of photos. I think I’m not photogenic. No man has ever used a pick -up line on me. Perhaps they are frightened . I guess that gives me the wrong feeling. I have to be naughty. Maybe I should wink at a guy and pretend that I did not. On a more serious note , it’s hard to find love these days. You have to accept someone at their worst to enjoy them at their best . I’m in a bad mood , but also easily cool me . So if my kid can handle this side of me , then he is definitely in love with me.

I’ve never had a boyfriend at school. I laugh in my head when I’d see a couple necking . I knew that once they were out of school not be agreed with each other. I knew my crushes would die down .
