Karachi: Police fire water cannon, teargas on protesting teachers

The protesters resisted water cannon , but were disbursed teargas shelling.
KARACHI  - Teachers demonstrate for rights were given a thorough wash by police with water cannons here Wednesday . Police also used tear gas , apparently injured 2 women , a total of 40 protesters were arrested . Teachers have announced boycott of educational activities in schools across Sindh tomorrow (Thursday ) .
Belonging to Sindh Professors and Lectures Teacher Association held a peaceful rally and staged a sit- in Sindh Secretariat to present their demands regarding promotions and timeline.
Demonstrators protesting included four women while sitting beside the road. No representative government came to negotiate . Police personnel keep urging protesters to end protest and clear the area and fired water cannons and tear gas to resistance.

Over 40 teachers were arrested after which , the teachers union has announced a province-wide boycott of educational activities across Sindh.
Teachers argue that they are forced to take the issue to the streets because of the injustices of the government and the government of Sindh was found to be non-democratic , attacking protesters .
