Protests at Congress office over Captain Amarinder Singh's clean chit to Jagdish Tytler
New Delhi: Sikh protesters gathered in the office today in Congress , demanding action against the party leader Captain Amarinder Singh on his recent statements 
Mr Singh , who has served as chief minister of Punjab , Jagdish Tytler had declared for Congress had no role in the promotion of violence that left hundreds of Sikhs dead.
A Delhi court last year ordered the CBI to reopen the investigation against Mr. Tytler after the agency said it wanted to close the case against the politician.
The families of those affected by the riots and human rights activists say Mr. Tytler leading a list of congressional leaders who instigated the attacks against Sikhs in Delhi after Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards , in alleged retaliation for having ordered the army to enter the Golden Temple Amritsar shrine of Sikhism more invested , to chase the militants who had taken refuge there.
In 2009, after much public protest in the capital , the Congress dropped the name of Mr. Tytler from its list of candidates for the general election.
This choice also , after initially submitted their nomination papers for the primary election for the seat held North East Delhi , Mr. Tytler withdrew his name after discussions with the party high command .
