Anderson’s ten earns Lancashire win

James Anderson completed a 10 game – as Lancashire wicket victory sealed a 60 – race in Northamptonshire in their first game without Peter Moores at the helm.
Moores has already started working as manager of England and be grateful for Anderson on their services in this paper, as the first seamer claimed two wickets in the morning of the last day at Wantage Road until the first blow to victory and finish figures combined 10 of 89 .
Northamptonshire resumed on the fourth morning 145 for five with 95 still to come, but which brought only 34 as the visitors finished the job in just 15 overs.

Northamptonshire retained a theoretical chance , provided Middlebrook maintained but when Chapple was drilled awaiting Ashwell Prince 87 , the result was practically solved . Kabir Ali applied the finishing touch , representing Olly Stone and azharullah to close 3 of 17 as Lancashire 19 points cocked .
Off the field, Lancashire announced the appointment of former club captain Mark Chilton for the coaching staff. Although Chapple has taken a leadership role in the absence expanded Moores ‘ , a vacancy was created between racks and Chilton, who retired in 2011, is a popular choice at Old Trafford.
Director of cricket Mike Watkinson said : “After the recent changes in our training structure was vital that we had some continuity so we can continue our progress.
“He has demonstrated his leadership skills in his role as team captain and he will have a great influence on the team He is Lancashire through and through and had a successful career in the Emirates Old Trafford He has not been out of the first . . – class game for a long time and is in contact with the requirements of modern cricket . ”
Chilton added: “I am very excited at the prospect of returning to Lancashire We have an interesting crop of new young players and look forward to working with them. ”
