Development will be main plank for Lok Sabha polls: Parkash Singh Badal
Chandigarh : celebrated the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal in the state today the announcement of Lok Sabha election date and said the development would be the main point for SAD poll alliance for BJP in next election battle .
The Election Commission today announced the date for general elections to be held from April 7 to May 12 for nine days and as many days of voting in which an electorate of 81.4 million rupees involved .
Punjab will have a single polling day on April 30 to elect 13 deputies .
Parkash Singh Badal Prime Minister said the SAD- BJP alliance will seek votes for the development and people were anxious to show the door to the “corrupt ” Congress -led UPA .
The prime minister claimed five times treatment ” step motherly ” with Punjab by the Centre and said the NDA wanted to bring people back to the helm.
“People are sick of corruption, scams, rising prices, the step motherly treatment to Punjab. Every section of society, including farmers want to show Congress the door and are eager to bring back the NDA to power” Mr. Badal said.
Expressing confidence in the NDA, the 86 – year-old leader said the people will vote for the government bring back NDA to power at the Centre and the Gujarat Chief Narendra Modi minister who is running for Prime Minister BJP , will become the next prime minister.
Claiming there was a strong ” Modi wave” blowing across the country , the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said SAD- BJP will ” sweep” the polls in Punjab.
” The SAD- BJP will create history by winning the 13 Lok Sabha seats as people can easily differentiate between a development-oriented and a center – mounted scam state government ,” he said .
When asked , Mr. Sukhbir said there was no comparison between Mr Modi and Vice President of the Congress Rahul Gandhi .
Mr. Sukhbir asked people to vote for NDA to defeat the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections , saying the people were demoralized by rampant corruption , fraud and lack of employment opportunities.
Mr. Sukhbir also said the development of the state has always been a priority of the SAD- BJP governmen
