Anupam Kher in controversy over 2002 riots documentary

Mumbai: A documentary about the communal riots that tore through Gujarat in 2002 has faced its director Rakesh Sharma against Anupam Kher , the popular actor who has been accused of stagnation in his office , in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Board of Film certification ( CBFC ) during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government .

Mr. Kher led the CBFC October 2003 – . In October 2004, Mr. Sharma has alleged that veteran actor put barricades at the premiere of his documentary ” The Final Solution ” , and could reach the people only after the UPA government was voted to power in 2004 .

” The final solution was cleared when the UPA was in power , not under an NDA . Kher Regime as head of the Censorship Board was the worst because it has feudal mindset , ”

Mr. Kher and his team – Mr. Sharma alleged – went ahead and had the film banned and then when the regime changed , the film was cleared without any reduction under a group headed by noted director Shyam Benegal panel. ” If, as he claims he was cleared under UPA does Congress mean sponsored the movie? ‘s Sharmila Tagore Party Congress only because UPA named ? ‘s Only merit are selected ” he replied. Ms. Tagore, a major player of the year 1960 and 1970 , succeeded Mr. Kher as CBFC chairman in 2004.

Bhavnagar , Gujarat : In a series of tweets this morning , Narendra Modi seemed rap on the knuckles Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP ) leader Praveen Togadia , who was seen in the advice offered by the camera on preventing Muslims from buying property in areas where Hindus are in the majority of Gujarat Mr. Modi .

Mr. Modi, who is running for prime minister of the BJP , Twitter, ” Petty statements by those who claim to be supporters of the BJP are being diverted to the campaign of the problems of development and good governance disapprove any irresponsible statement … ” . A First Information Report or FIR is registered in Bhavnagar , Gujarat, against Mr. Togadia of the VHP . Both the VHP and BJP are part of the Sangh Parivar , an umbrella group of Hindu nationalist organizations led by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS .
The Bhavnagar police said it is investigating the comments of Mr. Togadia by meeting people who were present at the meeting in a house in the city on Sunday , which also said that supposedly , “We should take us to take the law into our own hands in an area in which we are a majority and scare them. ”
Congress has complained to the Election Commission , which has said it will investigate the dispute. The Commission has sought a report from the local authorities. The Bhavnagar police said they would report the action taken to the Electoral Commission today.

Although Mr. Togadia was once close to Narendra Modi, the equation in recent years has been rebellious. Mr. Modi has cracked down on the VHP before. In 2008, the Gujarat government had arrested a close aide of Mr Togadia . The VHP had protested against the demolition of temples in a campaign against the illegal structures in the capital of Gujarat Gandhinagar , Mr. Togadia make an open attack against Mr Modi .
The footage shows Mr Togadia Bhavnagar declaring : “Muslims have been buying properties at bargain prices Hindus How to stop this. ? ” As a solution , offering , ” You put pressure on the government to enforce the Disturbed Areas Act of the way we have in cities like Ahmedabad. ” the Disturbed Areas Act makes it difficult to sell the property to a member of the minority community in a neighborhood to avoid tensions between the communities and the people who are in the minority do emergency sales .
Mr. Togadia said the meeting that another option is to take the property of a Muslim by force and weaving business in a legal case that could take years to resolve .

Malaysian airline passengers recall three ‘scary’ hours

Bangalore: The passengers of Malaysia Airlines aircraft had a landing hits later recalled Sunday air three hours of anxiety passed .

Swathi , a doctor in the city , said he heard a loud noise, like an explosion of the tire when the plane took off with 159 passengers and seven crew from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

“The plane shook as it took off . We were informed that the plane was going back ( to Kuala Lumpur ) due to some technical problem. We were told later that the landing gear was not working. The plane was flying for about three hours since ( pilots ) wanted out of fuel before attempting to land , “said a relieved Swathi journalists in the arrivals hall .

After circling for three hours, anxious to hold on tight to their seats with his head down , and the pilot decided to land the plane passengers were reported .

” Finally , we were informed that it was making an attempt to land the plane . During the third attempt, the pilot managed to land safely . Once the plane landed , everyone cheered and thanked the pilots and crew profusely, ” said her.

Another passenger , who declined to give his name , was all praise for the pilots and crew as they kept passengers carried and looked after us well .

” The pilots and crew could not stop to talk to us during those three hours , and they assured us not to worry as it was trying to land the plane safely,” he said.

A Malaysia Airlines spokeswoman said 153 passengers flew in Bangalore with seven crew members .

” They (the passengers) were of different nationalities , although most of them were Indians . Some had connections to Chennai and Hyderabad ,” the spokesman told IANS.

The aircraft has two daily nonstop flights on the Bangalore route – Kuala Lumpur.

“The experience was stressful for everyone . ‘s Only concern was to be safe and leave the aircraft quickly ,” said a third passenger .
