Young Maneesh Sharma launched an idea he wanted to direct a film that Chopra had the rod by surprise. That movie was what we now know as a fan for anything less than superstar Shah Rukh Khan. ” Adi agreed that this film definitely be done, but it should not be my first film. ” Maneesh went ahead and attended two films, Rab Ne Aajaa Nach Le Bana Di Jodi . Sometime later approached again Adi Fan with the proposal , but received a similar response. ” Adi asked me to work on a concept , which would not be a risk for me as a producer and director,” he shares . Dismissal on the rebound gave birth to her Band Baaja Baaraat blockbuster debut (BBB ) . I was an assistant in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and today I am coming to direct Shah Rukh Khan. It is a dream come true. I am a big fan of his
talent powerhouse. Fan comes with great responsibility . I’ve followed the life of SRK from his Fauji days . There is no way I can let it down . People say that working with newcomers is rather easier to work with a big star. I ‘ve only worked with newcomers . They were at my disposal and inexperienced. But I think everything has a price. Today, I’m getting to work with a big star. The number of entries will bring SRK Fan will be tremendously helpful .

If people have not liked the film, is not the subject but the treatment . I’ve heard people say bad things about SDR . We have terrible reactions after the first
projections. Even my father did not like . They feared my career was over. But the audience loved the movie because it did not hurt anyone’s feelings. Tongue in cheek said in a lighthearted manner . Ironically , SDR is my greatest success in terms of box office collections .

On Koffee with Karan, Anurag Kashyap says that SDR was overrated . Maybe he did not like the movie. I love him for his honesty . But I can not forget that after accreditation in freedom, he was the first person to call me. We were on the phone for 45 minutes out of which , were we spent 42 minutes praising my work. I respect people like Anurag , Rajkumar
Hirani and Imtiaz Ali . I want to live up to their standards. If you are able to praise my work, they have every right to criticize too. For example, even Sujoy Ghosh called me after SDR and said he did not like the movie, but he loved what I did with my actors. I respect your opinion .
