How is your equation with Karan Johar ?
For Karan I am attached emotionally. I received my first check from Dharma Productions. I was a fat 17 year old boy then. I had shot the performance of Kal Ho Na Ho . His first film, Ishaqzaade , brought him success , but then Aurangzeb ended in failure . You’ve tried both a little too soon. How did you handle this?
I could not understand the moments of success and failure, because my mother had died shortly before the release of Ishaqzaade . I was unable to find anything. I could not understand what was going on around me. So when I got success, I felt good but I did not get into my head, because I was in a totally different area at the time . Aurangzeb did not do well , but then went on with life. What is the use of thinking about things ? You can only pray that the next movie does well . I feel that Aurangzeb was not a bad movie. It is a different thing that people do not like. It was a failure , but not bad . Even today , many people say that I liked more than Ishaqzaade Aurangzeb .
What advice you receive from your parents when you entered the film industry ?
Well , I grew up in the industry, so I was very aware of their rules and regulations . Neither I nor anyone I asked no spoon- feed this way. The most important thing here is your observation.
