Asian Cup : Afghanistan Mohammad Nabi captain credits team effort for historic victory
Fatullah , Bangladesh: Ravi after his team scored a surprise victory over Bangladesh in their match of the Asian Cup on Saturday , captain Mohammad Nabi Afghanistan credited the team for the historic victory .
“Our first victory against a full member ( ICC ) . Fans and the whole country must be famous and we’ll try to do better in the coming matches, ” Nabi , who also played a big role in the victory by taking three wickets in Bangladesh , said after winning 32 of the performance of his side. Today’s victory in Afghanistan was the first against a Test- playing nation and the best performance of their history of cricket.
” Our fans have always prayed for us and love us so I want to thank them ,” said Nabi .
He praised the duo of Asghar Stanikzai (90 not) and Samiullah Shenwari (81) sewn 164 for the sixth wicket to save Afghanistan from a precarious position to take them to 254 for six in their innings. ( Scoreboard )
“Bangladesh bowled very well up to 25 more , and the last partnership ( between Stanikzai and Shenwari ) was great It was a good partnership We scored 107 points in the last 10 acquisitions. . ” Said off – versatile spinning .

Man – of – the -Match Shenwari also credited the victory to the team effort.
“It was a team effort, the coach, manager and everyone . We wanted to bat 50 overs and I did. 150 was the great partnership , our plan was to just stay at the counter and when we took 107 tracks of the last 10 overs , that was the main point , “he said.
“I learned leg spin from the beginning and we have worked hard with the coaches . ”
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim conceded disappointed that his team was dominated in all three departments of the game.
“We were dominated in all three departments . We played well in the first 30 overs ( Afghanistan sleeves ) but they did much later , especially in the slog overs . They batted very well and we were not given a chance and we were short launcher , “said Rahim .
” 254 was chasable , we could have hit better but they upset too. Our bowling was OK , but they hit really well in the end. “
He said Bangladesh was also under pressure in the absence of senior players Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal .
” Shakib and Tamim were not there so there was a lot of pressure . I tried to bat well, but I got out cheaply. No chance for boys. It’s hard to believe that we have disappointed fans , but we would like to improve the remaining matches.
