
A group of nurses announced to end their sit-in while the others continued their protest.
LAHORE – Protesting young nurses in Lahore have been divided into two groups after listing several nurses opposite end sitting Secretary General following discussions with the Governance Committee , Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Young Nurses Association ( YNA ) held a protest march from the Club Chowk to Egerton Road and conducted a sit-in against the dismissal of the nursing staff , as well as regularization of nurses in Punjab.
Last night , provincial health adviser Khwaja Salman Rafiq met with the Young Nurses Association ( YNA ) and said the case regarding the regularization of 814 nurses has been forwarded to the Government.
In this , the Secretary General YNA Shahnaz Kausar announced to end sit- in, but several nurses insisted on continuing with the protest until their demands were met.
Nurses protesting not accept any verbal assurance from the provincial authorities .
Traffic was blocked during the protest which caused great inconvenience to motorists.
Nurses had withdrawn their services OPD rooms and interior, however, continued to cover hospital emergency .
